Remembering September 11th

Today, on this 25th anniversary of September 11th, we pause to remember the events of September 11, 2001, a day that changed our country and touched people around the world.

On that day, thousands of people lost their lives, including passengers, workers, first responders, firefighters, police officers, and ordinary people who were simply going about their day. We also remember the many people who showed extraordinary courage by helping others, often putting themselves in danger to do so.

As we remember September 11th, it is important to recognize not only the tragedy, but also the compassion, courage, and unity that followed. People reached out to strangers, communities supported one another, and countless individuals chose to help rather than turn away.

For many of us, September 11th is a historical event we learned about rather than something we personally experienced. But remembering history helps us understand the world we live in and reminds us of the values we want to carry forward: kindness, respect, courage, service, and care for one another.

Today, we remember those who were lost, honor those who responded, and think about the importance of treating one another with respect, kindness, and compassion.   Let us stay UNITED and together we will Nurture Minds and Empower Futures.
