NESD - Two-Hour Delay/Mask Update

The North East School District will be operating on a Two-Hour Delay on Monday, February 28, 2022.   In addition,  Erie County COVID-19 transmission rates are now moderate (medium).  According to the District’s Health and Safety plan, face masks become optional; however, they are strongly recommended indoors.   Effective Monday, February 28, 2022, masks will become optional for students and staff, including school transportation, with the exceptions as outlined in the Health & Safety plan for quarantined and positive cases.

The pandemic coordinator(s) will continue to monitor community and school transmission levels.  In the event of increased spread in classroom(s)/building(s) or cluster COVID-19 cases, the district will continue to follow the Health and Safety plan and may move to remote learning for classrooms/buildings or move to universal masking in high COVID transmission rates as outlined in the plan.

All students and staff are strongly encouraged to wear masks while indoors; however, the district will follow strict disciplinary guidelines for any student who treats others differently as a result of their masking decisions.

If you have any questions, please contact your building administrator or the district office.
